WHY THE 2ND CAR AT A LIGHT WAITS SO LONG TO TURN LEFT.
Many have noted that the second driver waits until the first is nearly halfway down the block before turning or even moving. The reason is simple. Nearly every intersection has a corner store on the opposite, left side of the street. And every such store displays the winning lottery numbers on a lighted sign in the position shown. As you can see, the first car blocks the second car’s view of the sign until it is well past the corner store. To the impatient driver of the third car, this may seem like “halfway down the block.” You may think that the driver of the second car could move forward as well and catch glimpse of the sign earlier, but, have you ever tried to read the winning lottery numbers from a moving car?
